Mark Borsey, 56, and Shameka Frederick, 30, both of Stamford, were arrested on Friday, April 24, by members of the Stamford Police Department's NARC Unit, said Captain Richard Conklin.
According to Conklin, officers with the unit heard there would be a delivery of powder cocaine on Waterbury Avenue.
Officers staked out the area and when a car pulled up with two people inside, officers approached the vehicle and as Frederick got out, a bag allegedly containing 29 grams of cocaine fell out of her lap and to the ground, Conklin said.
Borsey, who was driving, told officers the drugs belonged to him, Conklin said.
Both were arrested and charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and conspiracy to possess narcotics.
During the bust, police also found that Frederick had a valid pistol permit and later seized two 9mm semi-automatic pistols from her residence. The license was sent to state police for revocation, Conklin said.
Borsey and Frederick were released after signing promises to appear in court.
